Considering the times we live in, this doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Never understood why Insurance co mpanies still give you the Vagina rebate or the Penis Punishment , But this Hero figured is playing their game. No way would I do what he does, but I hope it wakes people/governments up and not allow different rates depending on sex, since this is clearly an exemple of why it’s ridiculous since he will pay half his rates since on paper he is considered a woman.

Considering Progressive just sent me my renewal notice and my rates are going up $300 for our 6 month policy due to “re-evaluation of the state of michigan” I might just have to try this.

Well, statistically young men are supposed to causing a higher number of accidents. So they pay more for insurance.

But i s it a higher absolute number because there men are driving more miles overall, or is it really a higher rate as a percentage of drivers of the same age group and gender ? I don’t know.

When I was in Edmonton I was in the ‘ male under 25' class a n d p a y e d $ 2 5 0 0 / y r f o r i n s u r a n c e , the day I turned 25 i t went down t o j u s t o v e r $ 12 00 . I signed a form saying no one under 25yrs would drive my car and got another $2 0 0 off.

The fact that this joker has an accident and a couple tickets means he’s one of the r e a s o n s t h a t c l a s s i s s o h i g h . Everyone else pays higher rates to cover him . He thinks he’s found a clever loop hole but I’m assuming by his complete lack of remorse or empathy to people who actually fight that fight s h o w s he’s n o t t h e s h a r p e s t .

no, this just points out the problems with rates by sex and not by the persons history. He is taking advantage of something that allows “peop le like you” to be yourselves. He says he is a male, but only change his sex on paper to save on insurance, as he stated in the article.

Yes. I know what I’m talking about. It doesn’t matter what problems his actions actually point out, the blame will somehow snake its way back to us once it gets picked up by politicians . Picking someone to blame is easier than fixing real problems.   Stories like these are often used against transgender people as proof that we:

1) Are just playing a part and aren’t legitimate .
2) Don’t deserve less gatekeeping because people will abuse the system.
3) Just about any other lazy excuse to hate us because some government made it easier for us to exist.

we are not all those people, that is the point you have to remember. there will always be some haters.

The outcome I see of this action is that everyone will end up paying the same thing, regardless of sex, sex that a person identifies with, race, language...  well the same depending on age, history and location.

I don’t honestly know how true or  accurate this is, but I’ve heard enough people talk it and noticed similar things myself. Fully accurate? Probably not, but I bet there is a kernel of truth to it.

Some of it is that women’s products are actually better. For example, most men’s disposable razors only have 2 blades, while women’s have 4 or 5.

Sure. But some women's disposable razors don't have that many and still cost more. Maybe not everywhere or all the time. And yeah I think this is probably largely false, but even a few instances is too many.
